Each year, Owensboro Dance Theatre invites the community to join in the fun of The German American Bank Nutcracker through our beloved Mother Ginger Contest! Two local community members—one representing Owensboro Public Schools and one representing Daviess County Public Schools—compete for the chance to take the stage as the larger-than-life Mother Ginger during ODT’s 33rd annual production of The Nutcracker.
Friends, families, and fans can cast their votes by donating to support their favorite contestant. Every dollar equals one vote, and all proceeds benefit ODT’s ongoing community programs and performances. The contestant with the most votes wins the role of Mother Ginger and will make a special appearance in this season’s magical production!

Step into a winter wonderland at Owensboro Dance Theatre’s annual Snowball Daddy Daughter Dance! Join us for an enchanting evening filled with laughter, love, and magical holiday moments your family will treasure forever. This year’s celebration will feature: a special appearance by Santa Claus, beloved Nutcracker characters bringing the magic of the stage to life, a delicious dinner for all guests, and dancing throughout the night in a beautifully decorated winter ballroom.
